Access To Funding

Resources that are available to assist with community development projects include:

  • Directories and databases containing private sector, government and charitable foundation funding partners.
  • Federal and Provincial government funding literature.
  • Fund-raising information.

Our Community Development Officer will assist project sponsors to identify and access funding resources from government and community partners to support their community economic development initiatives.

Local Initiatives Fund

Local Initiatives Funds may be provided by KDCDC to support local/regional community economic development (CED) projects within its service area that are identified as critical to the implementation of the economic development plan for the area. Incorporated not-for-profit corporations may be eligible for a contribution of up to $5000.

Eligible costs support CED objectives, are project-specific, and are in addition to those supported from the proponent's existing resources.

These may include:

  • Pre-feasibility studies
  • Environmental Assessment reports
  • Research projects
  • Small-scale capital projects
  • Seminars/workshops
  • Community telecom, technology projects
  • E-commerce promotion
  • Marketing/promotional activities
  • Community tourism events
  • Development of on-line business services
  • Other community-based economic development projects
